catching up

Liz & T

Liz L came to London. So very nice to see her. We met up at Greenwich and I dragged her on one of my favourite walks, along the river to North Greenwich. It’s still pretty much totally unreconstructed – about the last bit of the river that still has its industrial character. And we caught up with all sorts of things from a very long time ago, and much more recently.

By the time we got to the Dome poor Liz was frozen, so we hopped a Thames Clipper (another favourite treat) back to Tate Modern and went chewing-gum hunting before retiring to the Members’ room for sustenance in the form of red wine. By the end of all that we had managed to recall a large number of the people we had both known years ago at Middlesex Poly/University. If anyone wants the tutor mugshot poster from 1985 I have unearthed it.

We walked within a whisker of some of the most stunning and famous landmarks in the world; then we stood in front of a grey wall to have our photograph taken! Tamasin wanted to do a ‘selfie’ but we resisted and grabbed an unsuspecting tourist who took a good photo which reflects a fantastic few hours spent with my old friend and tutor Tamasin. Fantabulous.
