Exploits in Istabul 2.1
I’ve managed to be in several interesting places when elections were happening – Ecuador, many years ago, Marrakech, and now Istanbul. They don’t stint on the bunting – it seems you can tell which way an area is going to go by the party flags.
Apart from Twitter, alcohol is banned for the entire day. No drunk voters, and no drunk (or indeed any, probably) protesters when the results start to come through.
How odd that you always seem to holiday in the middle of the local elections! – this is not a glorious as the symbols in Marrakesh but the flags are MUCH better!
