We had help with this one – a recommendation from our apartment host. But it still took some finding and a little nerve. The entrance is a scruffy doorway, and the only indication that there’s a restaurant at the top is a bell push, almost invisible in the dark. You take the lift (the kind with no inner door) to the top floor and there’s a long, thin restaurant serving very good cheap food with lots of cheese, yoghurt and, curiously, béchamel. It’s run by hippy-trail Thai beach types, although the clientele is more The Beach (dreadful book, worse film). Excellent.
